Virgilio G. Contreras

Virgilio G. Contreras passed away on Monday, January 19, 2015 in Hebbronville, Texas at the age of 79. He was born on June 9, 1935 to Juan Contreras and Aurora Garza Contreras in Hebbronville, Texas. Virgilio proudly served our country in the United States Army for a brief period and later worked in several surrounding area ranches as a Vaquero. He was also employed by Cotton Gems and Minerals for many years until his retirement. Virgilio is preceded in death by parents and his infant son, Virgilio Contreras, Jr. He is survived by his loving wife, Felesitas Guardian Contreras of Hebbronville; four sisters, Olivia C. Niedecken of San Antonio, Texas, Andrea Gonzalez, Elsa Jaime and Minerva Fabela all of Hebbronville; numerous nieces and nephews and had a special bond with Albert Salazar, Jr. and family.

Pallbearers will be Tomas Mendez, Jr., Mike Salazar, Alberto Salazar, Jr., Javier Guardian, Jr., Johnny Guardian, Mauro Moreno and Brandon Salazar. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mario Fabela, Joe T. Gonzalez and Esteban Leal.

Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Hebbronville with visitation beginning at 4:00 pm.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Hebbronville.

Interment will follow at New Hebbronville Cemetery.
