George Fairman

George was the third of ten children. He graduated from Farragut High School in 1972. After graduation, he worked for Ryerson Steel in Chicago, Illinois for many years.

Later in life, George rededicated his life to the Lord while at the Salvation Army Midwest Corps where he met and married his wife, Loverjean, in 1998. He was a devoted and loving husband until Loverjean’s transition in 2022.

George was an amazing band member in his early years. His instrument of choice – bass guitar. He and his band traveled locally, to various venues wooing the crowds with their sultry, smooth, sounds.

George was a very low-key, low-maintenance guy who preferred spending quiet time at home watching football and Law & Order.

George is survived by: Sons Brandon and Jason, Bonus Sons Tyree (Maribel), Cortez (Angelique), Bonus Daughter Valletta, three brothers Charles, Michael, Edward, five sisters Charlene, Cheryl, Patricia, Linda, Theresa (Patrick) and a host of nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces, extended family and friends.
