John “Tom” Kenny died peacefully surrounded by his family on August 19, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer. Best friend and loving husband of Margaret (nee Phillips). Devoted father of Timothy (Jamee) and Kevin Kenny. Proud grandfather of Hunter. Son of John F. and Patricia (nee Quenan) Kenny. Beloved brother of James, Mary (late Fred) Reed, Michael and Patrick (Lisa) and the late Mary Patricia Kenny. Fond brother-in-law of Mary Phillips and Luanne (Doug) Peterson. Much loved uncle to many nieces and nephews. Tom was a respected member of the Chicago business community, specializing in Executive Search, a former teacher at St. Ignatius Prep and a Board Member of the Irish Fellowship Club of Chicago. Visitation Monday 2 to 8PM at Woodlawn Funeral Home 7750 W. Cermak Rd., Forest Park. Chapel prayers 9 AM Tuesday at the funeral home going to St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church, River Forest, for 10 AM Funeral Mass. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Irish Fellowship Club of Chicago.
