

Lucille Hartnett, age 93, resident of Oak Park, formerly of Western Springs, Lucille died a natural death in her home with her husband next to her. She was at peace. Beloved wife for 69 years of Jim Hartnett; loving mother of Susan (Dennis Rosenbaum), Mary Ann, Patrick (Kimberly), David (Lee Ann) and Jimi (Jean) Hartnett; proud grandmother of Sarah, Erica (Boe), Andrew, Alex, Katie, Steven, James, Audrey, Liam and Shannon; great-grandmother of Jalya, Jordan and Lila; dear aunt of many. Preceded in death by her siblings Bud and John and Mary Ellen, Therese and Peg. Lucille was an excellent dancer. She and her husband Jim took formal dance lessons for many years. It was their “date night.” Lucille’s mother died when she was 20 years old. Her father died when she was about 30 years old. Lucille spent many holidays with her siblings and was especially close to her sister Peg. Lucille was a cheerleader at Parker High School, from where she graduated. Lucille spent most of her adult life as a homemaker. Later in life she took a job at Jim’s court reporting business. Her sister Peg worked with her as well and they had a grand time together downtown Chicago. Lucille was a devout Catholic. She didn’t just believe in the tenants of the Catholic Church, she embodied them and lived them on a daily basis. She volunteered by visiting the sick and bereaved and helping families plan funerals for their loved ones. She was a beloved home visitor to parishioners during times of sickness and grief. She was very active in the annual St. John of the Cross garage sale, specializing in clothing. She will be remembered for her enjoyment of; dancing, reading, watching good movies, socializing with the ladies and her favorite, spending time with her children and grandchildren. Lucille loved her family dearly, and they loved her dearly in return. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. A visitation will be held Monday 3-9 PM at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 7750 W. Cermak Rd., Forest Park. Family and friends will meet Tuesday for 9:45 AM Funeral Mass at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church, 5005 S. Wolf Rd., Western Springs, IL.
