Patricia was born on February 15, 1947, in Chicago, Illinois, to Harry and Matilda Klar. She grew up in Chicago and the western suburbs and later graduated from DePaul University, earning her MBA in Finance. She built a distinguished career in finance, serving as an Assistant Controller at Fuji Securities, working in Asset Management for ABN AMRO and IBM, and later as a Configuration Management Analyst at IBM before retiring nearly 12 years ago.
Patricia found joy in crocheting, gardening, baking, and feeding the wildlife in her backyard. She supported the liberal arts and loved taking her family to the theatre, traveling, exploring new restaurants, attending parades to celebrate the USA, cheering on NFL football, and reading by any body of water.
She was deeply committed to her community, volunteering with the Brookfield Citizens Police Academy and supporting the American Legion Auxiliary throughout her life as a devoted, lifelong member. She was passionate about politics and government and could spend hours engaging anyone in thoughtful conversation about them. Patricia was immensely proud of her military family roots and carried that pride throughout her life.
Patricia cherished time spent with her family, friends, and neighbors. Above all, she treasured time with her grandchildren. She will be remembered for her kindness, humor, thoughtfulness, generosity, and unwavering matriarchal strength that was the source of unconditional love and endless support.
Patricia is survived by her loving and devoted children, Michelle and Danielle; her beloved grandchildren; her siblings; her cousins; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Matilda, and her brother, Harry II.
A celebration of life service will be determined at a later date.
