My son's 1st grade teacher has the same heart condition and had her son retested after hearing about Philip. Philip's life will go on within those who had the pleasure of knowing him and all who only heard his story. God Bless!

   When I heard the announcement of Philip's passing over the PA at Montini this week, I took pause and said a few quick prayers. Although I have not had a loss of a child, as a mother of three sons (and as a teacher of many young people at Montini), my eyes filled with tears for all of you. From what I read on this guest book, your son was incredible. He has certainly in his time made an indelible impact on many people. That can be of some comfort to you at this most difficult time. I don't know Matt as I teach mostly 9th and 10th, but one thing I do know is the bond that brothers have. Please let him know that if he needs to talk, he's most welcome to drop by my room. It was my priviledge to have taught Phil in third grade.  I still have the memories of a bright, articulate, and caring student.  He also had such a wonderful sense of humor.  He was witty beyond his young age of nine.  He was so athletic too.  He was so proud of his many talents but also humble.  These many years later I still remember him like it was just yesterday because he had the kind of personality a teacher does not forget.  I will always remember him fondly.  My heart go out to the entire family.

Phil was such a good person and a great friend to me. He always made all of us laugh and Im glad he was part of my incoming class, because he made athletics and life at BU so much more enjoyable and random!- My sister and I loved spending time with Phil as well as with Annie and Megan. and I am glad I got to meet you, Mr. Kaiser, after the day we spent in Chicago! You welcomed us into your home and i don't remember the exact words that were exchanged, but I remember that I felt comfortable and very welcomed into your house. And that is exactly how Phil was: inviting, friendly and hysterical. I am sorry for this long message, but I just want to celebrate his life with you in the most positive way possible because that is how we are  all going to get through it. Phil made a great impact at BU and I know that you are very proud!
