Sharon D. Tyler, 72, passed away on April 19, 2025. She was born on December 23, 1952, in Chicago, Illinois. Sharon was a loving mother of Shanita Tyler; cherished grandmother of Serena Jackson Jajuan Collier); treasured sister of Leora Jean Matthews, Torrence Matthews and Patrice Matthews.
She was a graduate of Mundelein College and then went to become a Chicago Police Officer.
She received multiple special service awards for work with the Chicago Police Department, recognition for special arrests; she was also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
She will be best remembered for her beauty, strong will, creativity, many opinions, intelligence and stubbornness. Sharon lived an exciting life filled with variety and adventures that matched perfectly with her one of a kind personality.
Memorial contributions in Sharon’s name will be appreciated to the Sickle Cell Disease Association of Illinois.
