Socorro Alvarez Cepeda

Socorro Alvarez Cepeda passed away peacefully on December 18th, 2023, after a long battle with cancer. She was born on June 27th, 1966, in Chihuahua, Mexico. She is the daughter of Maria Cruz Raygoza and Pascual Alvarez. She is the loving wife of German Cepeda and her legacy will live on through her three beautiful daughters - Amy, Jessica, and Angelina. “Suqui” was also a proud grandma to Alyssa, Bo and Camila.

Socorro’s cosmetology career began in the 1980’s. She was an incredible hair stylist.

Her drive and ambition made her a natural leader. She then blossomed into her role as a district leader where she impacted the careers of many stylists. Everything she did was full of love and grace. She was a woman of integrity. A mother to all. She enveloped you in her warmness and treated everyone with kindness and compassion. Her strength was unmatched. Socorro’s resilience will not be forgotten.

Her faith shined through every area of her life. She found empowerment through worship and remained faithful through every trial. Her faith walk with Jesus Christ was admirable.

Socorro, we know you have crossed the veil and are continuing your walk with Christ in Heaven. Your love and memory will never be forgotten. We love you so much!

Friends and family will gather for a visitation for Socorro that will be held Friday, December 22nd, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 7750 West Cermak Road, Forest Park, Illinois 60130. Funeral starting from Woodlawn at 9:30am for a service at 10:30am at New Life Community Church, 2001 Division Street, Melrose Park, Illinois.
