Mr. Venerable was my first boss as a physical therapist at St Mary of Nazareth H., in Chicago. He was a very good man. I never heard him utter a negative or disrespectful comment. He was a true gentleman. May God be with him.

Deepest sympathy to the entire Venerable family.  I had the pleasure meeting Mr. Venerable at Angela and John's wedding.  Though a brief meeting , he was a very gracious and dynamic gentleman.  I took Pharmacology with Angela at Howard College of Medicine and credit her with helping me get through that class. I have met Mrs Joyner and Mark.  They are a wonderful family and will find comfort in so many great memories. It is my wish for peace and continued Blessings. 

In memory of Mr. Wendell Grant  Venerable who was the ultimate Sigma Gent. A fond memory of him was at the Sigma Gamma Rho Boule in 2016 in Cleveland, Ohio. It was delightful sharing the luncheon table with Mr. Venerable,  his wife Shirley, daughter Angela and son Mark.  Angela and I were classmates and sat together in pharmacology class at Howard University in the 1980s. It is with a heavy heart that we no longer have Mr. Venerable here with us, but he is likely playing golf on greener courses on high. 

So many times in life we take things for granted. We all make mistakes, miss out on opportunities to say and do things or we often choose the tougher path. Thank you for giving me the opportunity, for providing grace, forgiveness and closure. I wanted nothing more than for you to know your Great Grandchildren and for you to leave an imprint on their lives the same way you did mine. Thank you for being the King you were.

We’ll always have our fun summers together Uncle Wendell! You were a funny man and we’ll miss you so much! Rest easy!!! 

Wendell, you were a great brother/brother-in-law/uncle to our family.  I remember when I was a teenager, I would come to Chicago each summer for visits and thoroughly enjoyed each time!  Later in life, when I married, my family loved when you came to visit in Dallas.  You would bring your golf clubs, even in the winter!! This was a standing joke between Berda and you.  She would say:  "Wendell, it's 40 degrees outside" and you would say:  "the sun is shining, this is golf weather!"  We'd always laugh about that, since it was probably snowing in Chicago.  Those were great visits and we will miss you.  We love you and even though physically you are not here, you will forever be in our hearts.  Sleep in God's arms! A FAMILY PRAYER

LORD, BLESS OUR  FAMILY WITH OPENNESS TO REAL COMMUNICATION, WITH SHARING IN ALL OUR JOYS AND SORROWS, WITH FREEDOM TO LET EACH OTHER GROW WITH UNDERSTANDING FOR THE GIFTS (LIFE) EACH HAS TO GIVE AND OF COURSE, WITH LOVE NO MATTER WHAT, NO MATTER WHEN. My deepest sympathies to all the Venerable's on the passing of Wendell. I have fond memories of our many talks I had with Wendall about life and especially about golf and tennis. Our hearts aches to hear about the passing of Uncle Ven.   I know that there is little we can say to console you all at this time, but please know that you and the family have our sincere condolences as we keep you all close in our thoughts and prayers.  Uncle Ven was a generous, kind and sweet man and he will be greatly missed.  While he may not be here with us now, our beloved uncle now walks beside us, unseen and unheard.

His long journey is over.  My Uncle Ven rest in peace.

This is a tribute to my dedicated, thoughtful, strong,  and highly intelligent father.  He demonstrated the characteristics of a fine father, mentor, friend, and professional colleague.  He loved his family, playing golf, and practicing the profession of physical therapy with an unwavering passion. 
Dad, you will truly be missed.  You are in my thoughts and prayers as you transition to join your mother (Theresa) and father (Ulysses) and several of my aunts, cousins, and uncles.  
Despite being physically gone, he is at peace, praying for us, and leaves his healing spirit surrounding his family, close friends, and my clients. 

To Uncle Ven who was always an inspiration and mentor to me. After all of the fanfare at his 50th Wedding Anniversary celebration, he took the time to reflect on what it takes to stay married to a woman for 50 years and still be in love with her..... "WORK. You have to work at it each and every day to get the full rewards from being one body. If you don't, the legs will want to do what the arms are meant to do." Spoken like a real man and physical therapist. Enjoy eternity Uncle Ven, because you worked at it.
