Allen R. Wilson

ALLEN R. WILSON, 69, of Fort Wayne, died Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home. he was born Dec. 29, 1942 in Paulding, Ohio. He attended Purdue University and was in the Army Reserves from 1967 to 1973. He retired from Raytheon Systems in 2007 after 42 years of service. He enjoyed spending time with his family, vacationing on Florida's Gulf Coast, sailing, computers, and hi-tech gadgets. He was notable for his wisdom as the head of the family, loving husband, father and grandfather. He was humorous as a good friend, faithful as a servant of God. He was amember of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, American Legion, and St. Mary's Boat Club in St. Mary's, Ohio. Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Karen Sue Wilson; children, Kari (Eric) Steinle of Columbus, Ohio and Shawn (Amy) Wilson of Massillon, Ohio; grandchildren, Katie and Sidney Steinle; brother, James R. Wilson of Payne, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Mildred Wilson. Memorial service is 11 a.m. Thursday, May 24, 2012 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 3425 Crescent Ave, Fort Wayne, with visitation two hours prior.
