Bessie B. Dennison

Bessie B. Dennison, age 91, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2017 at Kingston Healthcare in Fort Wayne. She was born on July 26, 1926 in Clarinda, Iowa. Bessie was the only child of the late Lucille and C.O. Gross. Bessie grew up in Marion, Ind., and graduated in 1944 from Marion High School. She was the secretary and the salutatorian of the class of 1944. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Marion, Ind., and the Order of Eastern Star. Bessie married the late Roy E. Dennison on June 15, 1947 in Marion, Ind. Together they owned and operated Dennison’s Market in Marion for over 30 years. Family was the joy of Bessie’s life. She loved family vacations to Florida. She was an avid reader, enjoyed bowling and watching sports, especially IU basketball. Bessie is survived by her children, Karen (Mark) Dixon of Fort Wayne, Mark (Sylinda) Dennison of Elkhart, Ind., Michael (Teri) Dennison of Fort Wayne and Sharen (Michael) Craft of Lexington, KY; six grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
