Bettie R. Wright

Bettie Roberta Wright, 92, of Fort Wayne, passed away on October 7, 2016. Born on August 2, 1924, in Glendale, California, she was a daughter of the late Howard G. and Vera Worthman; Bettie and her late husband, Lawrence, were charter members of North Park Community Church, Fort Wayne, she was also a member of the Pro-To Home Economics Club.

She is survived by her children, Sheldon L. Wright and Kay Anne (Gary) Otis; grandchildren, Jodi Schroeder, Brian Wright, Mindy Sparling, Adam Otis and Tracy Otis; great-grandchildren, Harmonie Otis, Nicholas Schroeder, Malia Wright, Parker Wright, Sarah Sparling and Isabelle Lehman; brother, Lee D. Worthman. She was also preceded in death by her husband of over 68 years, Lawrence “Larry” Wright, in 2016; twin sister, Bonnie Chilcote.

Funeral service will be 1pm Tuesday October 11, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne, with calling two hours prior to service. Calling will also be held from 4 to 8pm Monday, October 10, at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne. Memorial donations may be given to the American Cancer Society.
