Birdene Marie Lange

Birdene M. Lange, 89, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2015, at Parkview Regional Medical Center. Born on August 28, 1925, in Flint, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late James H. and Margaret L. R. (Klee) LaLone. She loved her Lord with her whole heart and devoted her life to serving Him. Birdene was employed by the Central and Indiana District of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod as secretary to the Executive Director and Executive Secretary of Missions. She retired in 1990 after a total of 45 years of combined service. She was an active member at Concordia Lutheran Church, serving on the Evangelism and Mission Committees and participating in OWLS. Surviving are her son, Mark P. (Susan) Lange of Fort Wayne; her grandchildren, Jason (Bethany) Lange, Justin (Jennifer) Lange, Joel Lange, Jennifer Lange, Jana Lange, Jillian Lange, Jared Lange, and Jeremy Lange; and her great-grandchildren, Nathan and Caleb Lange. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Paul C. Lange. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at 11:00am at Concordia Lutheran Church, 4245 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior; Reverend Douglas Croucher officiating. Calling will also be on Monday, April 6, 2015 from 5pm-8pm at Hockemeyer and Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Rd., Fort Wayne. Burial at Concordia Cemetery Gardens following the service. Preferred memorials may be made to Concordia Lutheran Church.
