

He is also survived by his wife of 16 years, April Johnson-Murphy; children, Aaron Johnson and Autumn (Steve) Buffenbarger; grandson, Jericho; his beloved dogs, Capone, Mable and Delaney; as well as brothers Tim and Tom Murphy; step siblings Christy Waldrop, Sande Jacobs, Craig (Julie) Waldrop and Angi Waldrop; brother-in-law Clyde (Rebecca) Ford, sister-in-law Sharon (John) Igney, and sister-in-law Kathy Rigsby; along with nieces and nephews Courtney, Tyler, Tanner, Kathann Loren & TJ Murphy, Jeff (Stephanie) Igney, Jennifer Burdette, Sarah (Tony) Puckett, Justin Gross, and Alyson Rigsby, 7 great nieces and nephews, several other family members and friends.
Daniel loved to cook for his family and friends, make anything stained glass, design and build with his favorite being decks, but above all he loved going fishing.
He will always be an inspiration and remembered as the brilliant man who never gave up, a man who never knew a battle too large or too tough. The man who inspired so many and who never lost hope, the man who’s contagious smile/outlook/attitude will be greatly missed.
Funeral service will be 7pm Friday, August 12, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne, with calling from 3pm until time of service. In lieu of flowers or houseplants, memorial donations may be given to the family or Veterinary Services, 905 W. Gump Road, Fort Wayne.
