David Lee Bear, 72, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at his residence. He was born on September 6, 1949 to the late Calvin and Mary (Olinger) Bear in Fort Wayne. David was a graduate of Concordia High School in Fort Wayne. He married Mary King on May 10, 1969 in Fort Wayne, and together raised two children, Monica and Joshua. Mr. Bear was the owner of JB Tool & Die and Engineering from 1989 until 2016 retiring after 50 years. David enjoyed traveling, golf, reading, baseball, and especially loved to spend time with his family and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Mary Bear; Children, Monica (Christopher) Watts and Joshua (Jennifer) Bear; grandchildren, Jacob Oser, Zoe Oser, Skye Bear, Dylan Bear, Rhiannon Bear, Calvin Bear and Canaan Bear; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Anne (Dan) Giles and Mary (Glen) Phillips. Also preceding him in death was a grandson, Ben Oser. Funeral Services will be Saturday April 2, 2022 at 11 AM at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 Saint Joe Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46835. Visitation will be Friday, April 1, 2022 from 2 PM to 4 PM and 6 PM to 8 PM at the funeral home, with calling one hour before the service. Burial will follow at Lindenwood Cemetery in Fort Wayne.
