Deborah Cheryl Swagger, 61, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at her home. Born on February 14, 1957 in Albany, KY, she was a daughter of the late Hayden Dicken and Halma Latham. A graduate of Northrop High School, Deborah was in management with Lassus Brothers Oil, Inc. for 30 years. A dedicated and hard-working woman, she set the example for others and passed down those principles to her children. She loved and cared for others, putting them first before herself. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 20 years, Richard “Rick” Swagger of Fort Wayne; daughters, Fostina (John) Cantu of Columbus, Miss., and Cassandra (Brian) Smith of Huntertown; four grandchildren, Bailey Hoover, Aiden Cantu, Logan and Carter Smith; two stepsons, Brandon (Jessica) Swagger and Cory Swagger, both of Fort Wayne; and two step-grandchildren, Livia and Colsen. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Ramona Zurcher. Memorial Service will be 4pm on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Hockemeyer and Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Rd., Fort Wayne, with calling two hours prior.
