Donald L. Reinking

Donald L. Reinking, 78, of Fort Wayne, died, on August 16, 2014, at his home. Born in 1936, Donald was a 1954 graduate of Concordia Lutheran High School where he also taught Math for 40 years. He served as chairman of the Mathematics Department for 25 of those years. In 1988, he was selected as CLHS teacher of the Year. Donald attended Valparaiso and Ball State Universities. He coached sports, most notably boy’s tennis for 25 years and boy’s reserve basketball and cross country. He also ran the Parks Department tennis program for many years with his good friend, John Mueller. Donald was inducted into the Tennis Hall of Fame in 1991. “Don was very proud of the faith given to Him by his parents, the late, Fred & Grace Reinking.” Donald is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Nancy; children, Gary (Pam), Terry (Cathy), Tim, and Jerry (Lori) Reinking; seven grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held 11 am Thursday August 21 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church with calling one hour prior. Calling will also be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 on Wednesday August 20, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road Fort Wayne, IN. Burial in Concordia Cemetery Gardens. Memorials may be given to Parkview Home Health & Hospice, CLHS Athletic Department, Worship for Shut-ins or Holy Cross Lutheran Church or School.
