

FOREST "BUTCH" WICKLIFFE, 80, of Fort Wayne, died the morning of Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at home. Born Oct. 5, 1934, he was the son of the late Ross and Mary (Confer) Wickliffe. He was employed by numerous companies, most notably as a mechanic for UPS for 19 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was adored by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing, baseball, and spending time with his family, particularly at the lake. He will be deeply missed by everyone. Surviving are his sons, Terry (Kathy) Wickliffe of Ukiah, Calif., Tim (Laura) Wickliffe of Kendallville, Jaime (Tonya) Wickliffe of Fort Wayne, and Rick Myers of Maplewood, N.J.; daughters, Sandy (Randy) Slaughter of Bloomington, Ind., Mary (Tom) Weisenberger of Fort Wayne, and Kate Hessler of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Nathan (Blair) Wickliffe, Shannon (Zack) Sampsel, David (Amanda) Mansfield, Austin Hessler, Arie Hessler, Aaron Hessler, Sam Wickliffe, Jack Wickliffe, Clay (Tara) Slaughter, and Tawny (fiancé Kyle) Slaughter; and nine great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Nancy (Flood); brother, Wayne Wickliffe; sisters, Marjorie Elzey and Mildred Krocker; and grandson, Matthew Wickliffe. Funeral service is 5 p.m. Saturday, March 21, 2015, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne, with calling from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Preferred memorials may be made to Parkview Hospice.
