George Daniel Gibson

George D. Gibson, 60, of Fort Wayne, passed away unexpectedly on August 22, 2014, at his home. Born on May 21, 1954, he was a son of the late George D. and Lois I. (Kintz) Gibson, and worked as a utility locator, and was an avid Notre Dame and New York Yankee fan. George never met a stranger and will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Carol Gibson; sisters, Suzanne E. (Charles) Bierbaum, Mary Jane Gibson and Rose Marie Gibson; nieces and nephews, Jeff (Aimee) Bierbaum, Sarah Bierbaum, Chris Hartnett, Richard Hartnett, Drew Agler, Tyler Nichols, Chad Harber, Erica Harber, Brandon (Val) Agler, Jennifer (David) McCarthy, Andrew Rodgers, Jennifer Rodgers, and Jeff (Brianna) Shumaker; great-nieces and great-nephews, Gabby, Libby, Allison, Emily, Kiersten, Karsyn, Trent, Tannor, Hope, Raymond, Owen and Joey; Mother-in- law, Betty Agler; Sisters & Brothers-in law Sheryl (Russ) Abrahms, Darryl (Bev) Agler, Sue (Jim) Shumaker, Gayle Nichols, Lori Brown & Larry Agler (Luda); his beloved pets, Gracie, Gus and Ghosty; and many friends. He was also preceded in death by his father-in-law, Ray Agler; sister, Rebecca A. Rodgers; and niece, Jessica Bierbaum; nephew, Matthew Shumaker. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am Friday August 28, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 518 East Dewald Street, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Calling will also be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm, Thursday August 28, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne. Burial will be in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
