

Gerald E. Harber Sr., of Fort Wayne, passed away on Thursday November 20, 2014. Born on June 24, 1930, in Fort Wayne, he was a son of the late Willard and Berneice (Collins) Harber. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Army and retired from Hall Aluminum Products as a glazier, after several years of service. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, the Catholic Order of Foresters, American Legion Post #82 and the International Brotherhood of Painters and Allied Trades.
He is survived by his wife of over 58 years, Barbara Harber; children, Gerald Harber Jr., Kenneth (Sandy) Harber, Richard (Lauri) Harber and Joyce (John Hogan) Urban; siblings, Daniel (Donna) Harber, Judy (David) Zimmerman and Joan (Larry) Malott; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one on the way. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, William Harber, Mariann Harber and Virginia Lee; son-in-law, Gregory Urban.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30am Wednesday November 26, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1502 East Wallen Road, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Calling will also be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm, Tuesday November 25, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne, with a vigil service at 3:30pm. Burial will be in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Memorial donations may be given to Parkview Home Health and Hospice.
