Herbert W. Leinhos

Herbert W. Leinhos, 88, of Fort Wayne, died on Thurs. July 11, 2013 at Parkview Memorial Hospital. Born in Pawtucket, R.I., he was a W.W. II Army veteran. He retired as Principal at Shambaugh Elementary School; he previously had taught at Bloomingdale and St. Paul's Lutheran Elementary Schools. He was also a member of Concordia Lutheran Church. He is survived by his daughter, Joy (Dave) Foss of Fort Wayne; sons, Mark (Connie) Leinhos of Aloha, Ore., Paul (Sandy) Leinhos of Westminster, Colo., James (Linda) Leinhos of Shelby Twp., Mich., Steven (Cathy) Leinhos of Temecula, Cal., and Joel (Ginger) Leinhos of Fort Wayne; 17 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; sisters, Carol (Bob) Davis, Ruth (Frank) Dannon and Marilyn Leinhos Pearce; close friend & companion, Joyce Iseler. He was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey who died in 2000 and grandson, David Leinhos who died in 2007. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Tues. July 16, 2013 at Concordia Lutheran Church, 4245 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne, with visitation one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Douglas Croucher officiating. Visitation will also be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Mon. July 15, 2013 at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road., Fort Wayne. Burial at Concordia Cemetery Gardens. Preferred memorials to The Hearing Loop at Church or the Donor's Choice.
