Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home
J. Alan Clark, age 66, passed away on Wednesday May 8, 2019. Alan was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania to John F. and Eileen (Connally) Clark. He completed his Bachelor’s Degree at Western Michigan University in only two years while working full-time and beginning a young family. Alan had a successful career as a lumber broker/trader for many years, but his final occupation as a school bus driver brought him the most joy. Alan was a big University of Michigan fan, from football all the way to Women’s Field Hockey…anything Michigan Wolverines…Go Blue! This is something that will live on in his children and grandchildren. Alan enjoyed golf, a wide variety of music (always played loudly!) and dabbled in photography when on family vacations. He is survived by his daughters, Kristen (Michael) Frederick, Melissa McFarlin, and Courtney (Devin) Bos; sons, Jonathan (Caitlin) Clark and Justin (Samantha) Clark; nine grandchildren and a step granddaughter; father, John F. Clark; and sisters, Janet Moodie and Lesley Riley. Preceding him in passing are his son, John Carlisle Clark and mother, Eileen (Connally) Clark.
A gathering of family and friends for Alan will be held Monday, June 10, 2019 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St Joe Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46835. A burial of cremated remains will take place on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at 10:30am at the Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery 25800 W. 10 Mile Road, Southfield, Michigan 48033. Contributions in Alan's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, www.alzheimersassociation.org. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.HockemeyerMillerFH.com for the Clark family.
