Janet B. Wooten

Janet B. Wooten of Fort Wayne passed away Saturday April 6, 2024 at Golden Years Homestead. She was 83 years old. Janet was born August 13, 1940 in Ironton, Ohio to Carlos and Mary Lavender Bayes. She married Edward L. Wooten in July 1960 and he survives. Janet and Ed lived together in many places but by far their favorite was the home they had built on Short Mountain in Liberty, Tennessee. She loved to plant flowers, she learned to make white oak baskets and enjoyed walks on her mountain. She is survived by her sisters Joy Lester and Bonnie Kelley. Her children Kathy Kilgore, John Wooten, Susan Page and her husband Adrian, Mike Wooten and his wife Stephenie, Matt Wooten and his wife Lauren. She also had nine grandchildren and two great granddaughters. She is preceded in death by her brother Carlos (Bud) Bayes Jr. and her grandson Kris Jones. In keeping with Janet's wishes there will be no memorial service.
