The family later moved to Fort Wayne in 1983, where John spent the remainder of his career before retiring from General Motors.
In retirement, John and Gretchen enjoyed time with family and friends and traveled extensively, including trips to Alaska, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, the Caribbean, Hawaii, and many smaller adventures along the way.
