Julio Cesar Casiano, age 58, passed away at 8:25 am on Sunday, July 24 at Ft. Wayne Lutheran Hospital. He was born on May 4, 1958 in Yauco, Puerto Rico and was raised in the Bronx, New York. Julio began dating the love of his life, Arlene Garcia, in 1974 when they were 16 years old. They married in 1978 and they have been together ever since. Together they had one son, Christopher Casiano, and they raised their niece, Melissa. In 1993 they moved their family to Ft. Wayne, Indiana from Queens, New York. Julio loved life. He enjoyed spending time with his family and vacationing in Florida. He met each day with a cup of coffee, a fried egg and ham and a huge smile. His coworkers at the US Postal Service, where he worked for more than 30 years, were his second family and he often developed precious friendships with the customers he met on his route. Julio relaxed after work by watching cowboy and action movies and drinking a beer. One of his favorite meals was white rice and fried pork chops, earning him the occasional nickname, Chuleta (pork chop in Spanish). Being a big kid himself, he like being around his nieces and nephews and playing pranks. Julio loved working on cars and helped family and friends with their cars. He will be greatly missed. Left to honor his memory, Julio is survived by his wife Arlene, son Christopher and niece, Melissa Kanigowski, his parents Julio and Luz Palmira Casiano, sisters Haydee (Jaime) Ortiz and their three children Fabian, Melinda and Adriana, Dolores Casiano and her son Wilson, his beloved in-laws Sergio and Nery Garcia, sisters-in-law Vivian Rini and her sons Roy, William, Luca and ArJay as well as Jeanette and Melvin Rivas and their children Michael, Michelle and Jasmine who were part of his daily life.
