Kathryn L. "Katie" Froebe

Kathryn L. “Katie” Froebe, 95, of Fort Wayne passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2022. Kathryn was born in Fort Wayne on April 3, 1927 to the late Leslie and Frances (Burwell) Swank. She was married to Thad A. Froebe for 33 years; he preceded her in passing on April 23, 1979. Kathryn loved to sit outside at the lake and watch her children and grandchildren swim. She was a wonderful baker and was well known for her delicious holiday decorated sugar cookies. She was a voracious reader and loved getting manicures. She volunteered at the Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana, the Gingerbread House, and the Embassy Theater. She was a member of the South Side High School Alumni club. Kathryn attended West Creighton Christian Church and North Christian Church. Kathryn is survived by her sister, Sandra Brewer of Fort Wayne; children, Leslie A. Morell of Lake Worth, Florida, TA Froebe of Warsaw, Indiana, Kathy Howard of Fort Wayne, Jayne Erpelding of Fort Wayne, and Beth Kennel of Parkesburg, Pennsylvania; 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Kathryn was also preceded in death by her son, Mark Allen. Celebration of Life gathering for Katie will be 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 4, 2022 at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne.
