Luella Ann McDowell, 65, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at her home with family by her side. Born May 16, 1953 in Fort Wayne, she was a daughter of the late Herbert and Joella (Brown) Lutz. Luella and her husband, Robert, owned and operated Pizza Clinic in Fort Wayne for six years. She was later employed with Scotts Foods and helped with food preparation in the deli for over 15 years, from which she retired. She enjoyed sewing, cross-stitching, plastic canvas, painting, crafts, and cooking. She was a member of Joy Fellowship for 10 years, having worshiped with North Point Live for the last two years. She is survived by her husband, Robert McDowell; daughter, Sarah Tumbleson of Fort Wayne; son, Matt (Yvonne) Spillers of New Haven; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Shelly (Garth) Locker of Fort Wayne and Rhonda (Jim) Reichard of New Haven; brother, Gary (Mary) Lutz of Michigan; and sister-in-law, Christine Gantt of Fort Wayne. She was also preceded in death by her son, Joseph Spillers. Memorial Service will be 1:00pm on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at Hockemeyer and Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Rd., Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Chaplain Kris McPherson officiating.
