

MARY JO PICKETT, 92, of Fort Wayne, passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at Parkview Hospital. Born Feb. 3, 1919, in Fort Wayne, she graduated from St. Catherine's Academy in 1937. She worked at General Electric and L.S. Ayres. She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church and Fort Wayne Turners, where she was past President of the Women's Auxillary. Surviving are daughters, Kathy (Michael) Meyer of Commerce Twp., Mich. and Sheila J. Lyttle of Fort Wayne; son, Michael J. (Barbara) Pickett of Maple Grove, Minn.; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Pickett in 1998; son-in-law, Ronald Lyttle in 2004; sisters, Catherine and Margaret Suelzer and Frances Symonds; and brothers, Bernard and Lawrence Suelzer. Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Saturday, April 9, 2011 at St. Jude Catholic Church, corner of State Blvd. and Randallia Ave. Father Daniel Leeuw officiating. Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 8, 2011 at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road with Rosary recited at 3:30 p.m. Burial in Catholic Cemetery. Memorials to St. Jude Catholic Church for Masses or Fort Wayne Turners.
