Robert proudly served his country in the Air Force for over 21 years, retiring as a TSgt, in 1975; he then retired from the US Post Office in 1997, after more than 21 years of service as a Tool/Parts Clerk. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne, a lifetime member of the American Legion, Post#82, the VFW, and of the Aero Med-Evac Association.
He is survived by his daughter, Donnette (Michael) Pate; son, Daniel Duffey; grandchildren, Cherie (Jeremy Webb) Pate, and Misty Crawford; great-grandchildren, Adison Crawford, Rylan Crawford, and Caliana Webb; sister, Joyce Deremer; brothers, Gene (May) Duffey, Roger (Meg) Duffey, and Ronald (Than) Duffey; sister-in-law, Marlene Duffey. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Duffey; and brother, Richard Duffey.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, July 19, 2021, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home (6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne), with calling from 11:00am, until time of service. Burial will be in Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne.
Memorial donations in Robert's honor may be directed to Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne.
