

ROBERT K. "ACE" HUEBNER, 91, of Fort Wayne, died peacefully on Monday, Dec. 8, 2014, at his home. Born Nov. 5, 1923, in Fort Wayne, he was a son of the late George and Luella (Sieling) Huebner. He was a lifelong Fort Wayne resident and retired from Amtrak after 42 years as a conductor for the Pennsylvania Railroad on the Broadway Limited Passenger Train. He also worked for Magnavox, Dana Corporation, and City Utilities as well as being a painter on the side. Robert was a simple man and fun loving guy who provided and cared for his family. An avid dog lover, he enjoyed caring for his dogs while sitting in the backyard watching the birds and enjoying his surroundings. He is survived by his daughters, Shelley (Ted) Pulver of Hoagland, Ind. and Jennifer (Kermit) Boleyn of Angola, Ind.; son, Mark Huebner of Indianapolis, Ind.; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Barbara (Weibel) Huebner; daughter, Sharon K. Herron; sisters, Geraldine Huebner, Virginia G. Marlin, Helen V. Weimer, Donna Skeadas; and twin brothers, George and Herbert Huebner. Funeral service is 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, 2014, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Pastor Bob Arenobine officiating. Calling also from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12, 2014, at the funeral home. Entombment in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne.
