Ronita Ann (Lauer) Shepherd

Ronita Ann (Lauer) Shepherd, 47, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away Monday, May 15, 2023 at home in Fort Wayne after a hard courageous battle with brain cancer. Born in Fort Wayne, she was the daughter of Ronald and Marita (Oetting) Lauer. She graduated from Bishop Dwenger High School with the class of 1995. She enjoyed couponing, bargain hunting, and spending time with friends and family. She worked in retail at Target for more than 25 years. She attended Christ’s Hope Church. Survivors include her husband of 20 years, Tony Shepherd of Fort Wayne; son Brandon (Karissa) Shepherd of Fort Wayne; daughters, Michaela (Walker Sorg) Shepherd of Fort Wayne, and Olivia Shepherd at home; granddaughter, June Shepherd; parents Ronald and Marita Lauer of Leo-Cedarville and brother, Matthew (Jennifer) Lauer of Leo-Cedarville; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Richard and C. Jeane “CJ” Lauer and Eugene and Corinne “Corky” Oetting; and grandson, Parker Sorg. Memorial Service 1:00 pm Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne with visitation from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm. Pastor CJ Powell officiating.
