

Ruth E. Hippenhammer Dirig, 97, of Fort Wayne, passed away on October 6, 2015, at Presence Sacred Heart Assisted Living, Avilla. Born on June 16, 1918, in Miriam, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Margaret Brumbaugh, a member of Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Fort Wayne, the Rosary Society and a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Post #499.
She is survived by her children, Mary Lynn (Gene) Stein, Maurice (Peggy) Jr, Ronald (Linda) and Roger (Kenna) Hippenhammer; sister, Phyllis Rockvam; half-sisters, Mary, Margaret and Julie; half-brother, Harry Brumbaugh; eight grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Maurice Hippenhammer Sr and Albert Dirig; sister, Pauline Felger; brother, Charles Brumbaugh; and half-brother, George Brumbaugh.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11am, Saturday October 10, at Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 1500 West State Blvd, Fort Wayne. Calling will also be held from 4 to 8pm, Friday, October 9, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne, with a Rosary service at 7:30pm. Burial will be in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Memorial donations may be given to the Masses or Visiting Nurse, Fort Wayne.
