Stephen Bruce Burris, 79, of Fort Wayne, Indiana died peacefully at home on Thursday, October 5, 2023. Born April 27, 1944 in Bloomington Indiana, he was a graduate of Bloomington High School. Steve served in the Army National Guard for six years. He worked for Household Finance for 15 years, and was an auditor for the state of Indiana. Steve loved to play golf and organized several golf leagues. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald E. and Jane W. Burris. Surviving are his wife, Maureen; sons, Chad (Tessa) and Andrew (Monica); and four grandchildren. Memorial service will be 4:00 pm on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne with visitation beginning at 2:00 pm. Inurnment will be in Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Memorials may be made to Brain Injury Association of America.
