Sylvia A. Alfeld

Sylvia A. Alfeld, 87, of Prosper, Texas, formerly of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2024. She was born on July 22, 1937 in Huntington, Indiana, a daughter of the late Kenneth and Maxine (McDowell) Garrison. She attended Clear Creek High School and later graduated from Indiana University. She worked as a real estate agent for Rousseau, Phillips, Gall / ReMax. She also was the owner of Lincoln Personnel. She was a member at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne. She belonged to the Fort Wayne Board of Realtors. She was a former charter member of International Management Council, a former president of the Fort Wayne Association of Personnel Consultants, and a former chair of the Fort Wayne Area Association of Realtors, FWAAR. Surviving family include her children, Karl Alfeld, Kimberly (Andy) Gunkel, Karie (Kurt) Swank, and Kraig Alfeld; 15 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren; and sisters, Judith Bancroft, Kay Robb, and Melissa Glaze. Besides her parents, Sylvia was preceded in passing by her husband, Lawrence Alfeld; daughter, Kelley Bradtmueller; grandson, Ezra Hiles; and sister, Pamela Brown. Funeral service will be 11:00 am on Friday, November 8, 2024 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 917 West Jefferson Boulevard Fort Wayne with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be from 2 pm to 4 pm and 6 pm to 8 pm on Thursday, November 7, 2024 at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne. Memorials in her name may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children or Lions Clubs International Foundation.
