THOMAS V. BUTLER, 79, died on Monday, Aug. 12, 2013, at his residence. Born April 28, 1934, in Fort Wayne, he was a son of the late Clifford and Mary (Pipenbrink) Butler. He retired as a firefighter with the Fort Wayne Fire Department. He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, several Abraham Lincoln groups and the Hoosier Vintage Thunderbird Club. Surviving are his children, Daniel Butler, Rosan (Lou) Matrisciano, David (Mary) Butler, and Curtis (Jodi) Butler, all of Leo, Ind.; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by sons, Bryan and Brent Butler; two brothers; and one sister. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, at St. Jude Catholic Church, corner of Randallia and East State Blvd., with visitation one hour prior to Mass. Visitation also from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, with Rosary recited at 5 p.m. Burial in Catholic Cemetery. Preferred memorials may given to the St. Jude Catholic School Tuition Fund.
