William Donald "Bill" Lomont

WILLIAM DONALD "BILL" LOMONT, 76, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 25, 2014. Born Feb. 14, 1938, in Fort Wayne, he was a son of the late William A. and Erma (Biesiada) Lomont. On Feb. 15, 1980, he married his wife, Janet and continued to build a family and make wonderful memories. Bill worked for the Fort Wayne Fire Department for over 27 years from which he retired in 1998. Bill enjoyed NASCAR, computer games and movies. Prior to working as a firefighter, he was a race car mechanic at Baer Field Speedway. His greatest treasures in life were his family and grandchildren. "He will be truly missed by all." He is survived by his loving wife of over 34 years, Janet (Rexroth) Lomont of Fort Wayne; children, Tristan (Hana) Lomont and Amy (Corey) Henline, both of Fort Wayne, Sara (Jeremy) Buuck of Scott, Ohio, Anthony Lomont, Angela (Ken) Nevers and Vickie Morris, both of Fort Wayne; nine grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and special thanks to friend Eric of Detroit, Mich. He was also preceded in passing by his daughter, Theresa Lomont; and brother, Norman Lomont. Funeral service is 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2014, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 2 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 29, 2014, at the funeral home. Burial in Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
