

Ynell (Suttle) Johnson, affectionately and well known as “Y’nell,” was born on April 19, 1937 in Marion, Alabama to the late Walter and Katie (Bell) Suttle. She returned to her heavenly home on August 9, 2021 at home with family at her side.
She accepted Christ early in life. Ynell moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana in 1958. For many years, she work for Fort Wayne State Developmental Center and various jobs in the area before her retiring.
Y’nell was blessed with a large and loving family. She met and later married in 1962 Edward Charles Johnson and to that former union three children were born.
She loved playing cards, going to the casino and babysitting her grandkids.
Her loved ones, who now celebrate that she is at peace with her creator, will dearly miss her. She leaves her legacy and fond memories to her friend, Edward Charles Johnson; her sons, Willie (Carolyn) Suttle, Patrick Johnson, Marvin Suttle; her daughters, Sherell Martin, Vanyell (Nate) Suttle, Marilyn Davidson, Carolyn Johnson, Seretta Suttle, Angela Lawson and Lois Johnson; her sisters, Elizabeth Suttle, Queenester Suttle, Betty Ruth McLaughlin and Rose Marie Suttle; her brother, Walter Suttle Jr., 29 grandchildren, 31 great grand children, with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Joan Suttle; her son, Jerry Sawyer; and twelve sisters and brothers.
A visitation for Ynell will be held at 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home (6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne, IN). Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park (6600 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, IN). A funeral service will occur Tuesday, August 17, 2021 from 12:00 pm, 6131 St Joe Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46835.
The Johnson family invites those who are unable to attend Ynell's funeral service to please join them via the funeral home's facebook page as services will be live-streamed. A link will become available 5 minutes prior to the service (at 12:00pm) and may be viewed by visiting the following link:
