

Etelvina “Etel” was born December 29, 1938 in Santiago de Veraguas, Republica de Panama to Tiburcio Ca’ceres and Juliana Castillo de Ca’ceres. Etel lived, loved and cherished every moment of her life with her family as they traveled to many locations as a Military family, settling in Fountain, Colorado in 1977.
Etel was married to Eugene Colwell Sr. for 59 years. They were blessed with three children, Jeff, Lorraine and Gene Jr.
Etel worked as a line production specialist for Current Inc, the former Looart Press for thirty years and always remarked on the generosity of the Loo family.
Etel was an avid gardener, home chef and quite accomplished outdoorsman who loved fishing, hiking in Colorado mountains, Garden of the Gods, the Cheyenne Mountain zoo and traveling Colorado’s many well-known destinations. She guided her young children while on these exciting adventures as well as her grandchildren later in life. She was a devoted Roman Catholic at Soldier Memorial Chapel at Fort Carson, Colorado and frequented other parishes in her later years.
Etel is survived by her husband, Eugene “Gene”, her children: Jeff, Lorraine Martinez and Eugene Jr.; grandchildren, Ben, Tilly, Lucy, Audrey, Bradley and Mitchell Martinez, Nicolette and Alexis, and many family members in Panama.
Etel with be remembered for her never-ending energy, devotion to her family, her warm invitation to everyone in her home, always cooking something on the spot, and beautifully manicured flower and vegetable gardens.
A private service will be held on April 13, 2022 at Dove-Witt Family Mortuary, 6630 U.S. HWY 85-87 Fountain, Colorado. In Lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, 4250 Cheyenne Mountain Zoo RD. Colorado Springs, Co. 80906. Or via the web at cmzoo.org
