Frances E. Duran, age 70, a longtime resident of Colorado Springs, ascended into heaven on May 21,

2011 after a long bout with illness. Frances was born February 23, 1941 in Caribou, Maine, the oldest of

four children to the late Phillip and Charlotte (Beckwith) Kidney.

During her 70 years she embarked on several different occupations ranging from a news paper

columnist, sales representative, CPA and real estate agent. However she was best known for the time

she spent at the local senior citizen center teaching painting to anyone that had the same creative and

wonderful outlook on life as she did.

She is survived by her devoted and loving Husband of 52 years, Daniel M. Duran and five children; Cathy,

Daniel, Roberta, William, and Michael. She is preceded in passing by her eldest daughter Charlotte and

youngest great grandchild Alyssa. Additionally she has three brothers; Phillip, Billy, and Peter as well as

12 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and a host of nephews and nieces.

Memorial Mass will be held from 10:OO am until11:00 am at St. Domlnlc's Church located at 5354 S. 85/87

with a reception following the mass at the Knights of Columbus Hall located at 567 Marquette Dr.
