

George Bauer, a beloved and devoted individual, passed away on February 12, 2026, at the age of 77. Born on April 30, 1948, George was a resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Known for his adventurous spirit, resilience, and wisdom, he was a selfless and thoughtful person who touched the lives of many.
George's early life was marked by a strong commitment to education. He attended school through the 6th grade in German Schools and graduated from Ft. Knox High School. An avid learner, he earned two master's degrees, along with several bachelor's and associate degrees.
His career was distinguished by his service in the military. George joined the army in May 1972 at Ft. Knox. He completed three tours in Germany, served a stint in Vietnam, and participated in Desert Storm. As a tank turret specialist, primarily with M1 Tanks, he also served in special forces and trained with various European armies. Fluent in German, he was an interpreter and, upon retiring as a Sergeant First Class (P) in September 1992, he settled in Fort Carson, Colorado.
In his personal life, George met Christa in Germany and they married on February 9, 1978. Together, they had a son, Benjamin, born on January 28, 1979, in Dettelbach, Germany, and a daughter, Michelle, born on September 6, 1983, in Eschenbach, Germany.
George's love for the outdoors was evident in his personal interests and hobbies. He found joy in being outdoors and cherished the family land in the mountains. Hunting and fishing were among his favorite activities, and he was an excellent marksman with a passion for shooting.
