James H. Ferguson Sr.

James H Ferguson Sr. 87 passed away on November 16th at his home in Fountain, Colorado. He was

born in Philadelphia, Pa on March 20, 1923 to Howard S Ferguson of Pennsylvania and

Mary Duffy of Ireland.

He married Doris Lillian Jordan of Portland, Maine on June 8, 1943 and had three children Patricia

Laperriere of South Portland, Maine, Christine Murphy of Widefield, CO and James H Ferguson Jr. of

Security, CO.

He served in the United States Navy during WWII and then moved to Portland, Maine where he became

a fireman and was instrumental in unionizing the fire department. After leaving the fire

department he worked for the City of Portland until 1961 when he moved to Malden, MA and worked as a

code enforcement officer for the city's health department. After retiring from the City of Malden he and

Doris moved to Fountain where he has resided for over thirty years.

Mr. Ferguson was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Doris and all of his siblings, his son in law

Robert Murphy and one great grandson Dawson Murphy.

He is survived by his children, his grandchildren, Paul Laperriere, Christine Wilcox, Pamela Murphy,

Robert Murphy Jr., James M Ferguson, and Julie Ferguson and his great grandchildren;

Andrew and Emily Laperriere, Devin, Cameron, and Ethan Wilcox, Joe and Jenni Woodrum, Jessica

Leyba, and Karissa, Adryan, Brendon, and Connor Murphy.

He will be sorely missed by

all who loved him.

A family grave side service was held on Friday November 19th at Fairview Cemetery in Fountain.
