

Jonathan B. Allen was a simple man of very few words. He was born 6 December 1948 in Detroit Michigan to Eva (Britton) Allen and John Allen. They moved to Florida when he was about 10 years old. There his brother, Kevin Allen, was born in 1960. Jon graduated from Fort Lauderdale High School in 1967. His brother sadly passed away in 1999, as well as his mother in 2001 and his father in 2004.
Jon married Judith Clark on 5 December 1969 before joining the Army on 1 February 1970. He attended basic training at Fort Jackson in South Carolina and AIT for Communications at Fort Gordon in Georgia. His first post was Conn Cocern in Schweinfurtn, Germany. During this time, his first daughter was born. Jennifer Lynn Allen was born on 22 October 1971 at Wurzburg Army Hospital. During his time in Schweinfurt, Jon augmented with the Military Police. He retrained into the MP's because he loved it so much.
Jon's second posting was at Fort Knox Kentucky which is where his second daughter was born. Rebecca Ann (Allen) Yohn was born 6 August 1975 at the Norton Children's Hospital in Louisville Kentucky. A couple of years later, his third posting was Fort Lewis Washington. During this time Jon also did a year at Yongsan AB in South Korea while his family stayed at Fort Lewis. Not long after he returned, they went on to his fourth post at Fort Stewart Georgia. Within three years, he was reassigned once again to Hanau AB (for 1 year) and Frankfurt Army Post (for 1 1/2 years). During this time in Germany, he also trained to be a Military Corrections Officer. His final post was at Fort Carson Colorado. He and his family moved there in February 1987. This would be his last posting and he retired from Fort Carson 1 March 1990. After retiring from the Army, Jon continued to do security for various companies in Colorado, Kentucky, and Florida.
Jon was a gun enthusiast and a lifetime member of the NRA. He enjoyed going to the shooting ranges with his friends. He was very proud of Jennifer for overcoming so many obstacles with her disabilities. He was also very proud of Rebecca for serving 14 years in the U.S. Air Force as well as completing her Bachelor's degree upon her medical separation.
He is survived by his daughters, Rebecca and Jennifer, his grandsons Tyler and Robert, his nephew Stephen, and his niece Katrina.
