Lena Gutierrez

Lena Ochoa Gutierrez passed away Sunday, Nov. 13th 2011 at the age of 78 years, 6 months 4 days surrounded by family. She was born May 9th 1933 in Marlin, Texas to Manuel and Josefine Ochoa. She resided in Fountain, Colorado the past 3 years and was a long time citizen of Calvert, Texas.

Lena married Jose Banda Gutierrez in the early winter of 1957 and recently celebrated their 54th anniversary. She enjoyed spending time with her dog Pinto, her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren whom were all the loves of her life. She was co owner of Joes bar in Calvert and had many many friends. Her fondest memories include family and she was happy to be surrounded by them during her final hours.

She is survived by her husband Jose, her children Manuel Rivera, Mary Louise Hernandez, and Virginia Perez, their spouses Sal Hernandez and Patricio Perez; her brother Joe Ochoa and sister Mary Lopez. She is also survived by her many grandchildren, Gilbert Rodriquez and his wife Elena, Lena Diaz and her husband Phillipe, Arturo Ybarra and his wife Maria, Elizabeth Ybarra and her husband Petronillo, Robert Ybarra and his wife Selia, Jose Angel Perez, James Rodriguez, Janell Munoz and her husband Carlos, Gabriell Rivera, Mauro Vela and his wife Lorena, Angelica Rivera, Darlene Hernandez, Bonita Hernandez and her fiancée Chris. She is also survived by her 29 great grandchildren and 21 great great grandchildren, many nieces’ nephews and cousins and her Chihuahua Pinto.

Her love of flowers, yard sales, hats and shoes, chisme, Christmas lights and going for rides was a breath of fresh air in an otherwise stressful life. She will be dearly missed by all who came in contact with her. God lovingly let her end her suffering and brought her home.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Nov. 15th 2011 at 6pm to 8 pm and the service will be Wed. Nov 16th 2011 at 6 pm with one hour prior for visitation at Dove-Witt Family Mortuary Chapel 6630 S. Hwy. 85/87, Fountain, CO
