Melbadean Canape

Melbadean Canape born February 2,1931 in Protection, Kansas and she was carried to heaven by the Angels on October 20,2016. Melbadean was preceded in death by her parents Glen and Lena Smalley, her husband Martin (Sonny), sister Shirley Smalley, sister in law Betty Smalley and four children David, Jolene, Kevin and June.

Left to cherish her memory, are her daughter Linda Puckett, sons Steve (Jean) and Martin (Tanny), brother Milo Smalley. 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, along with many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Melbadean retired from FFC School District 8 after 35 years, she was an avid life time member of the VFW Ladies Axillary, Korean War Veterans and American Legion. Melbadean was witty and full of personality and laughter until the end. She loved to travel, paint, bake, cook, garden and spend time with her family and friends. Raising 5 children in Fountain over the past 50 years she has built many lifelong friendships.

Services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at Dove-Witt Family Mortuary, 6630 South US Highway 85/87.

God's called her to his heavenly home, part of his great plan,

Although it may be hard, we all must understand.

Faith is what is hoped for, things we cannot see,

Heaven is promised to all of us if only we believe.
