

Robert “Bob” Luis Esquibel passed away the morning of December 7, 2021, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born on September 23, 1947, in Wagon Mound, NM to Mike and Carolina Esquibel and was the 11th of 12 children.
Robert moved with his parents to Rocky Ford, Colorado as a young child, and there he attended school and graduated from Rocky Ford High School.
He was drafted into the United States Army in 1969, and was stationed at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas where he served as a clerk typist.
After serving 2 years, Bob moved back to Colorado where he settled in Colorado Springs, Colorado. That is where he met his wife Jackie in the early 70’s. They married on June 15, 1979, and together they had 4 children.
He retired from his job at Wasson High School where he worked as a building manager in 2013.
After retiring, Bob enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was happy to support our troops in whatever way he could and was a current member of a local Vietnam Veteran group. He treasured his grandchildren and would jump at the opportunity to spend time with them whenever he could.
When he was not busy with grandkids, he enjoyed watching old westerns, True Crime, and catching up on politics by listening to radio talk shows.
Bob also loved to visit his family ranch in New Mexico and was happy to go with his sister whenever he could to spend time there.
He was an incredibly hard worker with an amazing worth ethic.
Bob was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a man of true integrity, and loved and cherished his family deeply, and he will be sorely missed.
He is proceeded in death by his wife Jacqueline L. Esquibel, his parents Mike and Carolina Esquibel, his brothers Alfred and Juan Esquibel, and his sisters, Sally Esquibel, Flora Garcia, Lucienda Vallejos and Viola Erwin.
He leaves behind his 4 children, Robert L. Esquibel II, Andreanna R. Esquibel, Alexis L. Govea (Esquibel), and Alexander J. Esquibel. His grandchildren, Serena R. Steele, Dean R. Wilbourn, Christian M. Esquibel, Ava R. Esquibel, Elias D. Govea, Enrique A. Govea, and Amiya S. Esquibel, as well as his sisters, Inez Cruz, Barbara DeJesus, Gloria Peluso, Mary Esquibel-Pagan, and Beatrice Florez and several nieces and nephews.
His viewing will be on December 22, 2021, at Dove-Witt Mortuary, 6630 S. US Hwy 85/87 Fountain, Colorado and will be from 4:00pm- 7:00pm.
His celebration of life services will be Monday January 10, 2022, at 11:00am and will take place at Calvary Worship Center, 501 Castle Rd. Colorado Springs, Colorado 80904.
