
Russell Kerfoot, a Colorado native and veteran was born in Lamar, Colorado. He grew up in Kiowa County and attended Eads high School graduating in 1946. Russell joined the United States Army in December of 1947 and served as a paratrooper in the 11th Airborne Division in both Japan and Korea. Upon honorable discharge from service in December,1952 Russell returned to Colorado where he worked for Colorado Interstate Gas Company in Colorado Springs until his retirement in 1986. He was married for 56 years to his wife, Ann who survives him. He is also survived by his two children, Craig Kerfoot (Theresia), Paula Presley (Stan); three grandchildren Hillary Koehler (Billy), Briana Kent (Chandler), Bethany Kerfoot; great grandaughter Elizabeth Kent; his mother Ruby Chaney; his sister May Fitzner and brother Leroy Kerfoot. Russell is preceded in death by his father, Ezra Kerfoot; his in-laws Polly and Milton Louthan; his sister Juanita Sneller and his brother Ernest Kerfoot. Russell was an avid hunter, fisherman and bowler. He loved Colorado from the eastern plains to the Colorado Rockies. He was a strong, quiet man who was dedicated to his family and work. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and will be missed so much. Services will be held Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Dove-Witt Family Mortuary 6630 S. Hwy 85-87 with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Donations may be made to charity of choice
