Sharon Louise Whitmire, daughter of Melvin Squire and Marjorie Lee Boyd was born on March 22, 1946 in Santa Monica, CA and passed away unexpectedly on May 9, 2023 in Colorado Springs, CO. She was a long-time resident of Fountain, CO and loved living there. She loved children and had managed her own daycare out of her home for many years. She then worked for Fountain Fort Carson School District 8 on the bus as an aide and as a Paraprofessional in the preschool classroom with Yvonne Conrad for many years.
She had one of the biggest hearts and was always willing to help wherever she could. She loved her best friends Kay, Kelli, and Marilyn and she was always watching out for her neighbors and everyone on the street. She loved her Fountain Community. She adored her dogs Snuggles, Roxy and Socks more than anything. She loved country music, dancing, lighthouses, traveling, Hallmark movies and the Denver Broncos.
Dancing was her passion and through that she met the love of her life, Preston Ewald, at Country USA. We know she danced her way to Heaven and will be propped up to the first jukebox she will find. Her family loved her very much and she valued and cherished times when the family could get together and make memories. Sharon will be missed greatly but we know she is now our angel watching over all of us as she dances around heaven.
She was preceded in death by her parents Melvin and Marjorie, and sister Pamela Boyd-Sayers.
She is survived by her significant other of 31 years Preston Ewald; Son Brian (Connie) Whitmire, Daughter Debbie Loebig (Ron Bahr), Sister Patricia McDaniel, Brother Mike Boyd, Step-son Allen (Loree) Ewald, Step-son Troy (Sharmon) Ewald, Step-daughter Rosalie Ewald and all of her Grand-children Logan and Chase Whitmire, Amber Osika, Ashley Edwards, Alisha Loebig, Allison Morrison, Allen Ewald Jr., Andrew, Steven, and Alex Ewald and Nieces and Nephews.
Services will be held at Dove Witt Family Mortuary at 6630 S U.S. Hwy 85 87, Fountain, CO 80817 on May 25, 2023 at 10:00 am. Burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery and will be family only.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.Dove-Witt.com for the Whitmire family.
