

family and friends. Stella was born on January 10, 1926 to William and Margaret (Gibson) Sallee (known as Estes and
Maggie) in Hartman, Colorado. Stella married the love of her life, Dale, at the age of 16 and proudly celebrated 73 years of marriage on June 10, 2014.
She was well known for her outstanding cooking and gave a collection of her favorite recipes to each of her grandchildren
as they started their family lives. She was the coordinator of several weekend family reunions at her home until the size of
the family got larger and then relocated to park areas and school cafeterias. Besides working on the farm, Stella drove a bus for 24 years.
She started out busing kids to Sheridan Lake in a car (1948 Chevy), stayed at school helping to cook lunches (from scratch) for the students, helped in the library until school was out, and then drove the kids home. Stella and her family moved to Black Forest in 1953 and she drove a bus for
District #20 and then in 1965 she and Dale moved to Fountain and she continued to drive a bus for District #8. She served
on the City Council in Fountain and helped to start the Fountain Riding and Roping Club and the Fountain Valley Museum.
Stella is survived by her husband Dale and two children, Buford (Gerry) Neugebauer of Cheraw and Barbara (Ron)
Soleau of Fountain; six grandchildren: Angie (Darrel) Hoss of Cheraw, Jason (Carol) Soleau of Fountain, Darrin Soleau of
Fountain, Stephanie (Cade) Spitz of Lamar, Lisha Neugebauer (Matt Daniels) of La Junta, and Brandon Neugebauer of Pue-
blo; eight great-grandchildren: Kodey Hoss, Angelle Soleau, Ronnie and Sebastian Soleau, Bailey, Shay, and Braley Spitz,
and Rhet Neugebauer, and several nieces and nephews. Stella was preceded in death by her parents, all of her siblings,
Selna Dennis, Opal Walker, Estes Sallee, Norman Sallee, and grandson, Lance Soleau.Visitation will be on Monday, July 7th at Dove-Witt Family
Mortuary from 5:00-8:00 p.m. (6630 South Highway 85/87). Funeral services will be at the First United Methodist Church
on Tuesday, July 8th at 10 o'clock with Pastor Greg Borden officiating. Burial will be at the Fairview Cemetery in Fountain
with a reception to follow at the First United Methodist Church (1003 North Santa Fe in Fountain).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church in Fountain or the Cancer Foundation of your choice.
