

She is survived by her loving husband, Jim; four children, Michael Cowan and wife, April, Victoria Eby and husband, Jeff, Lorraine Fitzmaurice and husband, Tim, and Steve Eby; her mother, Jeanette Bell; two brothers, Benjamin Bell and wife, Bonnie and Charles Bell and wife, Alice; eight grandchildren, Lori, Jeanette, John, Samantha, Jessica, Ryan, Jeffrey, and Jennifer and three great grandchildren, Taylor, Brooke, and Reagan as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her grandson, James and father, Benjamin Bell Sr.
Barbara retired as a real estate agent after more than 30 years and had received numerous awards and honors during her career. She took a personal interest in each client and treated them as a family member.
Barbara was a beautiful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend and truly loved and cherished her family, particularly her grandchildren. She was a courageous woman who inspired many with her grace and dignity as she battled breast, colon and brain cancer over the last two decades and was often more concerned about everyone else. Her beautiful spirit touched everyone who was blessed to know her and she will be truly missed.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg from 7-9:00 PM. A service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11:00 AM, with burial to follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Reception will follow.
