Billy Gene Nichols

Billy Gene Nichols, age 86, of Fredericksburg, VA passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at his residence. He was born on April 14, 1938 in Pitt County, North Carolina the son of the late Alonza T. and Verna B. (Peaden) Nichols. He retired as an Educator and a Computer Coordinator for the Fredericksburg School System. During his working days and after retirement, he drove a bus for National Coach Works traveling all over the country. Survivors include his loving wife, Joyce Bell Nichols; one son, Gary Alan Nichols (Leslie) of Fredericksburg, VA; one daughter, Debra Lynne Knighton (Roger) of Charlottesville, VA; one sister, Ruby Overman of Aden, NC; one grandchild, Joseph Alexander Knighton (Stacy) of Harrisonburg, VA; three step-grandchildren, Eric Brian Christofferson, Jason Christofferson, Sarah Christofferson all of Fredericksburg, VA. The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 23, 2024 from 9:00-10:00am at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg where funeral services will be held at 10:00am with Rev. Amos Healy officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Children’s Hospital Foundation, Box 980693, Richmond, VA 23298-0693
